"A Brown Dwarf"
14" x 18" Acrylic © 1992

Stars are bodies that are large and hot enough to radiate heat and light. Planets are comparatively small bodies that only reflect light. Sometimes an object forms too large to be a planet, but too small to be a star and is called a "Brown Dwarf." In this painting, appearing like a giant planet that glows, the strange object looms beyond the bleak surfaces of its' family of moons.
