The most important part of the word "photography" is "photo" meaning light. In photography lighting is crucial to getting the desired effect. Too many people overrate the importance of equipment. Imagination, planning, patience, composition, technique and the right light can easily offset most equipment limitations. In some ways I enjoy doing photography more than painting because to do it I have to be "out there." My art starts where my photography stops but I try to push my limits in both disciplines. To me the camera is simply another medium, like pastel or acrylic. Wonder and beauty abound yet most people don't take time to notice them. I hope these images will encourage you to take the time to see the beauty and wonder around you.
