When the sun has set, most photo-graphers pack up the gear and head off to lodging and a good nights' sleep. This is what sensible people do. However, I have never claimed to be that sensible. For me, sunsets are the beginning of an adventure not the end. Photographed by twilight or moonlight, even the most lethargic landscape can often look magical. Places that are overrun by crowds during daylight hours are peaceful and serene at night. Although I have done star trail shots (as long as 6-hour exposures), I prefer exposures of about 30 seconds. This keeps stars looking like stars. Keeping exposures this short requires a fast film and therefor some images may seem a bit grainy. So with that, I hope you enjoy these images of my favorite time of "day".
