"Pele Meets the Sea"

On Hawaii's big island, a lava flow from Kilauea meets the sea creating a spectacle of rising steam and brilliant contrasting colors. Pele, the Hawaiian volcano goddess, can be seen rising mysteriously above the chaotic union of fire and water, as the event is annunced by a sentinel blowing a conch shell.
